VFX Supervision

An integral part of any production especially those that are more complex in their nature, is the planning process. VFX supervision can encompass a wide range of both the pre-production process, including previsualization and shooting recommendations, right through to on-shoot supervision.

Why do I need a VFX supervisor on the shoot?

It is proven that having a supervisor on set during a shoot can save a lot of aspects of a production. Ensuring that all angles of post production are covered at this vital stage means reducing unexpected surprises at a later stage of the post.

What kind of video assist do I need?

When Redrum are present on a shoot, we work closely with the video assist operator, often doing a rough edit or even simple compositing previews on set to give the director an idea of how the final shot may look. This is an invaluable tool to have present on any shoot. Thus said, it's often enough to have a video raptor on set (Hard Disk recorder) that can give a composite feed to us. Alternatively if shooting with Red or any other HD based digital camera, contact us first for more detailed requirements.
